Default Transmission fluid change in 05 330's

Given the history of transmission "issues" with the RX models, does anybody recommend a more frequent schedule of changing the transmission fluid in the 05 RX 330 ? Does the same go for oil changes in the new model ?

The "issues" on the 330 are ECU programs and noises related to hose placement... nothing to do with the internal workings of the trans.

No, sorry I have not read the manual yet. I hope to be buying my 330 in the next couple of weeks. The reason I bring this up is because of past threads about changing transmission fluid at 12000 miles (which seems early to me) and then issues of "gelling" in the past. Thanks for the reply.

It is early, and I should've done more research before opting for the $95 tranny fluid change for my 15K service. Further research after the fact said to change the fluid at 100K... I got suckered!

Cool

Vagus, keep us posted when you take delivery of your 05 RX.....I'm courious what the owners manual says as well (if it's the same as previous or revised for the 05 model year that explains this). Please let us know what specific type of tranny fluid you need....I'm guessing still the Toyota type IV.

TA fluid is unchanged from 04 to 05.

Interesting that while the manual doesn't indicate a transmission fluid change until 100K, my dealer did it anyway as a part of the 15K service. Now the strange part is that I don't pay for interval service for the first 35K - so the service was on them. Are they aware of something I am not?

I understand that there is no such thing as a free lunch (one of my primary laws of economics). I "paid" for that interval service in the purchase price. But, why would the dealer spend those few (wholesale) bucks on service I didn't "need"? Hmmmm . . .
