Default How much everyone paying for insurance on RX

Just purchased an '05 RX330. Insurance on it is going to be $2,500 through AAA. I am located in L.A. area. This is my first SUV, is insurance on SUVs generally higher than normal cars? I'm only paying $1,300 for my 2000 GS400.

This is all full coverage for 1 year.

Geez- I have full coverage on my 2004GX and it's 1200 in the suburbs of Boston! I had a 2005 RX (long story) and was paying $998 full coverage. I always get $1000 deductibles....

I am going to lease a new Rx and my quote was 971 for a year and there lease limits are more than Lexus requires. I thought that was a good deal. It is around the same price as my other car which is a 02 M3 for a year. I have a good Insurance Company called Wawanesa. They are based in San Diego so they are not very popular here but I have been with them for over 9 years and they are really good you should look them up.

There's so many factors that affect insurance premiums, but $2500 (assuming it's only on the RX330) sounds incredibly high.

State Farm classified the RX 300 as a "station wagon", whereas the RX 330 is considered a "luxury utility vehicle".

Going from a 300 to a 330 initially cost me an extra $200 a year! It's come back down, though, with multi-line discounts, clean record, etc.

$994 a year in Colorado, with $1,000 deductible. 2002 RX300 AWD Nav with Allstate.

Paying through my nose at $2,200 a year back in NYC, also with Allstate.

I am paying 760/year with 100 deductibles through USAA. Bad thing is is that USAA is for militarr service members and their families.
