RX 330 Plant Tour
Just in case RX owners don't venture over to the Car Chat forum I thought I would post this here too.. Moderators please excuse the cross post and you may erase one or the other if you wish:
Well just recently got a phone call from Lexus Canada asking if I would be interested in being one of 48 vistors that would get the chance to tour the Cambridge plant that the RX 330 is being manufactured. Of course I said YES and on January 25, 2005 this will take place. Looks like a full day event and my wife and I are pretty excited.
Attached is the day's agenda:

I'd be VERY intrested in the plant tour! How did you go about arranging this tour 2SAVVY? Give us some of the details if you wouldn't mind. It's too bad one can't tour the plant on a weekend. But I might be able to pull a few strings.......& get the day off.......Toyota Canada headquarters is less than a 10 minute drive from my condo!

Sure is nice. Hope it won't be like the Corvette and Saturn plant tours I took way back. They just put people in a "golf cart train" and zipped through the plant quickly. Didn't see jack. Of course they dropped the tourists off at the gift shop at the end of the tour.

The tour is a guided tram of all the shops in the facility (Lexus and Toyota). The speed of the tram is not what I would call "zip" but there is a lot of ground to be covered. They can't let people out for obvious liability and productivity reason but it is still cool to see for those that have never been in a plant before.
Oddly enough, a new gift shop just opened last week and yes the tour does end there.

2SAVVY, I need you help with this.....please check your PM when you get a chance. I can send you any personal info you need (my personal PC is down at home & for whatever reason I can't e-mail lexus.ca). If you can give me a 'direct' e-mail address to the person you suggested, that would be a huge help!
