After a lot of digging I've found out that the Voice Command will not control the blue tooth phone. Yep, there's no commands for it.

It makes little sense (except running out of time). Lexus added phone books and one touch dials, why not add a command to at least control the one touch dial and dialing phone numbers. It requires no additional BT integration or hardware because the NAV screen already has the interface to dial and select numbers in the Phone Book/One Touch. The BT Integration already can send phone numbers and Send & End commands.

So perhaps it comes down to lack of time in adding the additional voice rec commands and assigning these pointers to the telephone screen buttons. They came so close.

With Nav updates, yearly release are fine. But now with an entire software operating system in these vehicles, you'd like to see Lexus offer more timely software updates to correct bugs, to add features, etc. Maybe quarterly. I would pay for such a subscription service. $239 per year would be fine with me if they were agressive enough. I compare this kind of subscription with PC owners getting the lastest updates from Microsoft, only Lexus would add some additonal items.

Figure at least 50k subscribers @ 20/month. Not a bad chunk of monthly change. Maybe the issue is Lexus purchases this technology from a 3rd party contract to which they have an exclusive agreement. The play for Lexus is to purchase this company then, bring the software developers in house, and go to work.

It is possible Lexus feels there is not enough updates that can be provided through a subscription service. I believe that can be changed.

To Lexus: I'm willing to head this division if it is a consideration.
