The oem hitch is $217 from Bell Lexus and that includes the $50 wiring harness. The cheapest after-market hitches are $130 with no harness. the most you save going after-market is $90 if you make your own harness and $40 of you buy the Lexus harness.

To me, the oem looks/quality is worth the extra $40.

No way in my part of this US could I find an OEM hitch from the (stealer) dealer for that price!

Default Neither could I, that's why I ordered one...

...from Bell Lexus on a tip from another member of Club Lexus.

However, I did not confront a local dealer wityh the Bell price to see if they would do a match. I figured if they wanted to gouge me, I did not want to have anything to do with them anyway.

Default OEM Hitch

I have an 05 RX330 Thundercloud Edition in Thundercloud Metallic. Had the tranny cooler and that factory installed but less the hitch. Had Lexus of Wayzata (Wayzata, MN) install the hitch for $425. (they quoted $600. originally). This included the wiring and the ball mount. I checked around on other brands and installers and was looking at $300./$350 for installation. With Lexus you get a nice looking unit and they have the techs to do it right. Plus I have heard of a few having problems with the wiring after someone else did it, even tailights coming loose or falling off. But hey, just make sure you go with a good electrical installer. Installing the hitch itself is easy, it's the wiring that's the bearcat.
