There's a TSIB for this problem. TSIB # EL003-05, "No Picture Displayed From Backup Camera", was issued on April 6, 2005, for the 2004 RX 330, GX 470, LS 430, and LX 470. Problem is a bad camera - solution is to replace the camera.

For the RX 330, this TSIB applies to serial numbers below these:
Japan 2WD: 25394
Japan 4WD: 49572
Canada 2WD: C004438
Canada 4WD: C006588

The serial number is the last 7 digits of your VIN.

I am living in Ukraine and here is no official Lexus dealer and local Toytoa doesn't provide any support for Lexus cars.

I don't think there's an option to have the rear view camera on while driving.

TSB or not, the '04s are still uner warranty, so if the camera fails, you get a new one.

Or am I missing something?

(PS: My J-AWD Serial # is way below the cutoff number listed above, and after 40,000 miles is still working fine -- but I'm sure they are not ALL failing.)

Thank you. I am in Ukraine and there is NO Lexus dealer (I bought my car from Miami). So there is no warranty support (or I have to send my car back to the USa, which seems to be not really practical solution).
I also start getting troubles with navigation screen adn, according to techinfo.lexus.com I should reinstall a new one.
Who knows where can I order a new camera and display unit for a reasonable price?

the same is mine. I also should to change multi-display assy (what does this assy mean?)
- I already changed one of Mark Levinson speakers (front left)
- my rear entertainment system reads 1:10 disks
- I want to change my steering wheel as the leather went away times ago
- I changed twise the breaks because of the strong vibration during the braking....

Still I love my car
