Want to find out if the new transmission software fixes the hesitation problem.
If anyone applied TSB TC005-03 (may 2005 update) please let us know if it works.

I actually had my '05 done yesterday. Symptoms were, at 15 and 35 MPH, transmission seemed to be confused at times, meaning it didnt know which gear to select and would upshift and down shift quickly causing rough acceleration. Now it didn't do this all the time, just once in a while.

I got the TSB done and so far the problem did not duplicate itself. I did noticed that 2nd gear would hold a little longer than before, which to me is a good thing. Other than that I haven't driven the suv long enough to note any more changes....

I recently reset the ECU on my wife's 2004 RX330, and both the upshifts and downshifts are much smoother. We weren't really having the problems that others have described, but it did make a noticeable difference. The easiest way to reset the ECU is to remove the fuse that controls it for a few seconds. I used to do that on my old GS400, but I don't know which fuse to pull on the RX. I disconnected the negative battery cable for a few minutes, and that worked. The only problem with doing it that way is that it messes up the one touch feature on the windows and sunroof. There is a procedure described in the owners manual for restoring it, but it is a little trouble. Resetting the ECU also made a big difference on my 2002 LS430. It seems that all of these transmissions with learning functions get cluttered with junk after a while and benefit from being reset.

I am having the new ecm update loaded today. Will respond as to effectiveness in a few days. It wont take long; I drive a lot, My 2004 RX330 has 48k miles already.

So this is THE most recent update? I had one done a few months ago and the hesitation was WAY better for a while, but now it's back to what it was before. They just re-flashed the ECU I believe.

This guy in the Edmunds forum said that his '05 RX330 drove just fine until a service guy updated his car with this TC005-03.
Better make sure they'll allow you to reverse the process if you don't like the new software.

CANNOT reverse software once the latest and greatest is installed.....Period!!

My updated tranny is much improved! maybe he better go back and double check the software

Couldn't get an appt until the 8/17. Thinking back, the tranny would never jerk like how it does now when my 330 was "younger" (usually between 2nd & 3rd gear shifts). I have 28K+ miles now. Point being, I drove a friend's 04 last night w/ 13K+ miles on, and the tranny never jerked once. Her's didn't have the lag either, between 1st & 2nd shifts. We'll see after the fix. I asked the service guy if anyone else had this done and he said no (I'm not surprised, but he is new)

Mine never jerked either. At first I never thought I had a problem since I've never really experienced any significant lag that would be any different from other automatics, but wife did complain about that before so it must be there. Maybe I'll do the tranny update soon as I never did any update yet since I wanted to leave well enough alone since I had no jerk.

I took mine in today and got it done. So far, so good. No more clunking or jerking between 20 and 40, and it's still responsive under full acceleration.

I had the old fix done and it was great for a while, but slowly became worse over time ... I'm gonna have to have this new fix done soon. Thanks all for posting your experiences!

The jerk and the lag go together! Once you press the gas pedal and it does nothing-----then it decides and thats where the jerk comes from because you have the gas pedal halfway to the floor by now "expecting" it to go somewhere.

Mine shifts much quicker than it did and seem to find the correct gear better too.....The wife is the one that drives it the most ans she really likes the improvement
