Where was your RX330/RX350/RX400H manufactured?

Look at you VIN...if it starts with J, then it is from Japan. If it starts with 2T...then made in Canada.

Lately, it looks like a large majority of US bound RX's are being produced in Cambridge instead of the Kyushu plant.

I believe it is to understand where our Lexus are made from. Just to have a clue as to the distribution. I check out cars in the dealership when I am in for service and I see cars from both NA and Japan. Somehow, somebody knows how it works...who gets what and how many. There was one 08 RX made in Japan that the paint on the rear look horrible...it is either re-painted or else, the OEM paint sucked! I can not believe it! I have seen cars with the Lexus logo on the pin stripes are being made in Japan....have you noticed?

Ok, so I just probably made an observation that all of the cars that I looked at which were made from Japan, had the pin striping which had the L on it....maybe just a coincidence.

Kyushu here.
I've now driven three different RX loaners...a 330, a 350 and a 400h. I didn't seek out model years, so I can't speak to the age of each one. The 350 had < 5k miles on the clock and was a pleasure to drive. (Not coincidentally, this is primarily what I used as a reference in making my purchase.) The other two, each of which had between 12 - 15k miles on the clock, were rattle traps. I'm not sure if I was more discouraged by the noises or the horrible condition of the leather and some other interior materials. Granted, these things are driven hard and put away wet, but it does make me wonder how well mine will age.

The wear and tear of a car, mainly rests with the user...and the amount of UV it takes, less UV, less degradation. If your car were garaged 24/7.....it would look near pristine. UV is the enemy. All components in the car subject to exposure, is designed to withstand UV. Not saying it is the only thing, but a big design point is UV.
