Default Where was your RX330/RX350/RX400H manufactured?

Is your RX330 made in Cambridge, Ontario Canada (TMMC) or Kyushu, Japan?

If you don't know, check your VIN plate on the lower drivers side door pillar...the location of manufacture either Japan or Canada...or you can simply check your vin...if it starts with a J, it's Japan, 2 is Canada.

I also requested a model made in Japan , I had to wait about 3 months but it was worth the wait.

From my understanding, because RX400h production had to be ramped up, there are more 2005 RX330's built in Canada that are going to most all North American Lexus dealerships. It will be rare to see a Kyushu Japan made RX330 now until demand of the RX400h decreases.

For those of you who bought the RX made in Japan, how many of you have this "ticking" sound coming from your dashboard? How about those who have theirs from Canada?

NeonDan you should elaborate on this. I personally work in the Lexus paint shop at TMMC and I do smoothness, gloss, and color measurements on the RX330. A while ago they brought in a RX330 from Japan to do a number of comparisons. So I took smoothness and gloss measurements on that car and compared it to the cars we paint at TMMC.
The results were the cars we paint here at TMMC had a slightly better smoothness and gloss (appearance) paint job than the cars coming out of Japan.

In this case I wouldn't doubt it. Personally I have an 04 RX330 from Japan, but I noticed the paint has a lot of orange peel effect to it moreso than any other car I have ever owned. There is not a single panel on the car that is smooth like my other cars from the late to mid 90s era. When I had a mishap and needed body work and repaint on part of my RX, my body shop painter had to specifically try and recreate the orange peel effect to match the OEM paint. He paints show cars locally so I know what he can do if needed, but if he painted it smooth it just woun't have matched the OEM paint.

i touch EVERY new car that comes off the car haulers from Jax.....its not much so the paint its more of the build quality. The paint on the Can. RX i admit appear far superior but then again the cars dont spend 6+ weeks on a ship not including the time they spend on the holding lots after being produced. I have to give you guys up in Canada alot of respect.....never seen a flaw on the paint of RX....your breakwater blue comes out looking super nice.
