RX330 Driver's Seat Noise
Hello.
I have searched the forums and haven't seen anything about this specific problem. My 2004 RX330 now has a thump/pop/click noise associated with the driver's seat. It is not consistent, except that the longer the drive time the more it happens. I bought the car brand new 18 months ago and this noise just started within the last couple of months.
It actually sounds like a "cushion spring" popping. It will just make one popping noise and that's it. If I have a hand on the seat when it happens, it does feel like it is inside the seat itself (not knocking from underneath the car or anything). I have checked under the seat to be sure that nothing is loose and no foreign objects are there.
Again, it might happen once in 5 minutes, or 5 times in one minute but does tend to happen more times the longer I am in the car each trip. I have tried relocating the seat position with no difference. It doesn't seem to matter if I am on a rough road or a smooth road, or whether I am turning or going straight ahead.
I plan to take it into the dealership soon, but I am wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue, or any ideas what might cause this odd noise. It is becoming very irritating and I am hoping that my service advisor won't think I am crazy!
Thanks for any help!

I had this issue. And I still continue to have this issue. The problem is the seat rails. The rails are easily damaged from normal wear and tear. They replaced the rails for me and the sound did go away for 6 mts, only to return again.
If anyone knows of a permanent way to address this issue, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks.
Sonny

Had the same issue 04 rx330. Dealer says they tightened some bolts?
Anyway noise is gone.
Of course while doing the wind nosie TSB they broke a clip on the door and got some kind of Tar on the seats.

Popping sound in seat back - 2001 RX300
I too have popping that sounds like loose spring or broken part[s] in the drivers seat back. It is not in the seat bottom or the rails and in my case, it is easily reproduced simply by pushing back on the cushion between the shoulder blades [upper middle of rear cushion].
I would take the back off the seat for a look if only I knew how. I don't see and screws or covers to remove. Any ideas?
