AC Compressor noise
Hi All
I have a 2005 RX330 and recently I developed a groaning noise in the engine compartmant when I
have the AC on. The sound is loadest at 1100 rpms and is gone at 1200rpms. My dealer looked at
it and said they needed to replace the compressor unit. So I let them do that but I can still here the
noise (although faintly) at the same 1100 rpm mark.
Has anyone had the same noise crop up in their 330's.?

I have definately had that problem. My noise was more of a whining between 1100 and 1200 rpms. The problem is a vibration through an AC pressure line. There is a TSB to fix the problem, although it did not fix my problem. My dealership fixed the problem by putting some non conducting shims on each end of the hose. No problem anymore.

same here, my 330 has 5,875K on the odo, and it's doin this on a $48,000 dollar car how annoying. And another thing that i'm experiencing is a weird noise without AC on, and idling to 3K rpm, and when needle drops i colud hear like a rattling noise somewhere in the engine compartment. Can anyone explain this?

I also have this problem on my 04 RX330. I tell you this truck has been 1 problem after another. I had not 1 recall but 3 (Rad,Back Light switch,Brake Booster) and besides that I have had countless TSB done. First the warp rotors and pads which happened twice and then the back door ecu and then the A/C groan and we can't forget the trans update so it would shift right and lastly they had to replace a front strut that kept making a noise. I blamed it on me getting it when it first came out but still this is a lexus and this shouldn't happen. Well good luck
