Possible to add navigation?
Bought my thundercloud edition rx330 in April of this year w/o navigation. I kinda regret not getting the navigation system with the dvd player mounted on the room in the backseat w/ wireless headphones. Is it possible to add it now and how much do you think it will run? My rough guess would be around 3k?

Out of Warranty
We get this question about every three or four months. Adding the nav option is not practical at any price. Because the nav system is much more than a DVD-ROM and a screen . . .including a compass, a connection to the ABS sensors to measure distance, and an antenna. One alternative is to sell your RX and purchase another with the options you want. The other (cheaper) alternatives would be a portable GPS, such as those offered by Garmin and others.
The good news is that you can add a DVD player and a screen or two to play your favorite videos relatively easily, Have a look at our electronics forum for a number of suggestions.
Note that these are two COMPLETELY SEPARATE devices - you can't play movies on your nav system.

i recently got a service reminder from my local dealer. they had these headset dvd players that are 1795 installed. that price is probably very high, but let me tell you that i would prefer those now. i have the nav and overhead RSES, factory installed. it's a nice system, but the headrest ones would be easier on your neck and they also are totally independent players inside the headrest, so 2 passengers in the back can watch different things.
the one nice thing about the factory RSES is the aux inputs in the trunk. we've hooked up a playstation to it and it worked well.
if you are looking for Nav for directional guidance as well, i agree with Lil4X, better to sell and rebuy unfortunately.
