Default 2006 RX 330 Navi DVD question

I saw this link posted in another thread.

http://lexus-parts.com/partdetail.as...bCategoryID=93

I’m picking up my 2006 RX 330 this weekend. Will my navigation system have the latest DVD? How can I check?

Does this upgrade even apply to the 2006 RX 330? The link says it is only for Gen 2 and Gen 3 but the picture also includes Gen 4.

How often do they release upgrade DVDs?

It's doubtful that your new RX330 will include the yet-to-be released 2006 Nav DVD. You should insist that the dealer install it when it's released in January.

I am picking up my 06 rx330 this coming weekend and had asked the dealer the same questions. I was told that the upgarde is not for the RX330, it's for the IS model hence there is no need to worry about it.

Hoboken huh? I’m from the area as well. I noticed that you got almost the exact same price I did as well. Out of curiosity what dealer did you use?

Folks I think there is a update for for GEN2/3, GEN 4 (rx330) and GEN5 (is 350).

I just don't know if this part number is the one the local dealer would have.

I just checked the version of the DVD in the system using the menu. It is Ver.05.1

The link on the parts website doesn’t have the version number for the DVD but I would assume that it is the 2005 release. However since it was only release a few days ago I would doubt it. Does anyone know the version number of the last DVD?

Default More Questions

I think Lexus-Parts may have updated there web site very recently.

If you look at the 2004 RX330 you have a 00230-GEN4S-CY05 as a Pre-Order for (Gen 2/3).

If you look at the 2005/6 RX330 you have a 00230-GEN4S-CY05 available now. I can only make a deduction that the 05 is still a new DVD.

If you look at the GEN5 update for IS 350 it is also 00230-GEN5S-CY05.

sd2528 and mink92890 would you mind posting the version detail from the NAV Service Menu? You can get to the service menu following this link; https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ferrerid=44071

Mine reports as follows;
VER 5.1 (as reported form MAP DVD)

The following is from VERSION in the Service Menu
MODEL: TY00
MAIN:5710
NEO-ROM: 1950
DVD: V 05.03.05 (I could only hope this is a date..).

Thanks!

Mine is the same. I'm guessing we are both using the older version.

Thanks, hopefully mink92890 will report his version as well. I sent an email to lexus-parts asking to confirm that what they have listed on their Web Site is acutally newer than than what I (we) have installed. I will report back when I have an answer.

”According to an email I received from Lexus Parts for the most part RX330's have the latest NAV that were manufactured in September 2005 and beyond....”

That’s interesting because I called them on Tuesday and spoke to someone (Daryl… real nice guy) who told me that they were told the new nav DVDs would be in the new cars with a delivery date of late January or February. He made it seem as if the navigations systems came from Japan and the current batch were made and send over to Canada before the new DVD was available.

I didn’t post that because I thought it would be better to confirm it ourselves through tests.

I also asked him how long it’s been since DVD updates and he said that it is typically around every 12 months but this one was closer to a year and a half.

Can someone with a 2005 RX get the disk version from their navi?

When did you receive the e-mail from Daryl? Maybe he asked around after I called him and found out some more accurate information.

Either way it would be good to get a version number from someone who knows they have an old disk.

Edit :
I just read your PM. Darrel (sorry for the earlier mispelling) said...

According to recent received information, September and later production dates already have the 5.1 update.

Recent could mean after Tuesday.
