Also...did you have to get extra antenna cabling with the add-on unit you purchased, or was there a specific SKU that came ready with extra antenna cable that worked for your install?

Thanks very much for your uber-detailed install walk-through. Very helpful to all here on the Forum.

His pictures show him going through the back by the doors and up the rear hatch. His antenna is mounted on the rear roof near the rack.

Thanks....Because of the close-up photo I couldn't quite tell from the two parts of the roof rack in the last photo where the antenna's exact location ended up. I fully get the wire routing to the roof...but antenna placement is key for both reception and look.

Also...is it possible to cover up or color in the white sirius logo on these add-on antennas? My RX350 is black and I would like to make the antenna as transparent as possible...I am guessing that painting or covering the logo will effect reception. True? Anybody tried it?

Well been given the wrong part. When I tell you I had 70% of interior panels out in a RX400 I'm not exaggerating.

As I said, I started with PTS31-33050 AND PTS31-00052. -33050 has one connector for the Sirius tuner, and two pass throughs (two connectors each) for the radio and for the AMP. Well, the 16p AMP connector is no where to be found. Purchased a subscription on techinfo.toyota.com and determined the AMP was located under the rear seat (or thereabouts). So after removing the shifter, radio, navigation, glove box left and right passenger kick panels and passenger suff plates I then had to remove the rear seat passenger side scuff plates, both side interior quarter panels, panels above the wheel well, all of the cargo panels removed including strapping from the rear seat and a metal chassis that sits directly behind the rear seat. All, only to find out neither connectors matched what I was looking for. Even if one was the AMP connector, the distance in the harness would not allow me to span the AMP connector (located in the back seat) to the radio. I was hoping either both connectors were back there (the radio connector smaller one that vp911used had maybe initiated from the AMP). At least I know for sure, PTS31-33050 does not work for the 400h and I suspect other RX models as well.

Darrel at Lexus-Parts says there is no such kit for XM, unfortunately. I don't see why there would be for Sirius and not for XM.

1) Sirius or XM?
2) What specific year and model RX (and Nav version)?

Makes a difference...

Question RX 330 help?

Hey there!

I just recently bought a used RX330 and I love it only problem is, is that she doesnt have Sirius installed . In my previous car, toyota celica, I had to install a kenwood head unit to get sirius and I dont want to do the same thing on such a nice vehicle such as this. My RX330 is a 2004 and when I emailed Darrell at lexus-parts.com all he had to say was:

"At this time, Sirius/Lexus has yet to release a kit for the RX model.

Thank you for the opportunity to assist."

I simply replied that I had seen and heard people do it so there must be something going on between sirius and lexus.

Basically what I need to know is where I could possibly go or what other routes should I take to get sirius in my car? I'm a college student, always driving to & from school and from work as well. I commute every day and its a little annoying when you're trying to relax and all you hear for the first 1/2 of your drive are commercials. Can anyone help? or does anyone have suggestions? Anything is appreciated at this point!
