frustrated 400h guy
maybe someone can help me out with problems ive had. dealer is of no help. i have a v710 verizon phone that wont xfer contacts to cars system. the car will not allow access to speed dial phone books, while moving, that i set into cars system, . what a waste of time! the cars system also disables the name dial and digit dial funtions of my phone !!! making it even MORE dangerous to use the phone!! i am better off using a bluetooth headset than the cars system. are there any fixes out there? also, is there a way to use the nav system WHILE driving? another thing, is there an updated nav version? many locations i put in are not found. they are commercial addresses (businesses) thet i KNOW are there. PLEASE HELP. thanks, GO GIANTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there are known issues with verizon bluetooth phones and connections with the Lexus system. verizon is known for disableing certain features that are allowed by every other phone and carrier. there is a short list online of verizon phones that actually work with the Lexus. One solution is to borrow one from a friend or get an inexpensive one on ebay. it doesnt have to have service connected, only be compatible with the lexus to transfer your phone book. I believe you can use the one touch dialing for up to seventeen numbers while driving. lexus does disable use of the screen while driving. There is a workaround that has been published on many Lexus forums that will allow the screen to be active at all times during driving.

VZW disables OBEX tranfers on all phones. That means that u cant transer files or ur phone book, no matter what kind of car u have.
I have a v710, and 2 cars with bluetooth. The RX and a BMW M3. I can make and rec calls but I cant transfer the phone book on either car. verizon just got sued cuz the lied to every one telling them that it would work. http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/f...tices/v710.jsp . thats why they came out with the e815.
so here are ur opts:
-switch to a GSM provider (tmoblie, cing)
-do a sw or seem edit on ur v710 (Didnt help me much)
and/ or if u want to be able to use ur navi while the car is moving u will have to cut the VSS wire to the NAV. its a baby blue colored wire. The down side to doing that is that if the car cant find a nav sat then it wont know where u r.
so basically;

The new Nokia 6256i allows transfering one contact at a time as a "business card". It's not available directly from Verizon, though, only from Verizon partners like Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. Works great witih our RX400h.

Don't slice your Nav System
You don't have to slice anything to use your nav whild driving. The secret is on the Volume screen. Do a search on this formum and you should be able to find it. I heard the wire cutting hack causes problems later one.
