Well, maybe some people can actually see their own wheels when they are driving.

I agree with your opinion to certain level. Sure, when we increase the output an engine can generate, it will somehow negatively affect the longetivity and the reliability of the engine. But by how much? It depends on how hard you are pushing it and what kind of tuning you put on it, and the maintenance. My experience proves that, my Supra's engine still runs really strong after 117K miles. Everyone knows that the iron block 2JZ engine is overengineered. Ask anyone who has a Supra TT and even those in the tuner circle, they will tell you the same thing.
Now, let's come back to the topic. I did some simple maths, and the stock 235/55-18 equals to a diameter of 71.57cm, or a tire sidewall of 12.93 cm. If someone is putting a 22" wheel, assume he's going to keep the diameter within +/- 3% just not to mess up with the speedometer, he probably will opt for tires that's 255/35-22 (that's 72.33cm in diameter), and a sidewall of 8.23cm. That's a huge drop in sidewall height. The 22" rim also increase unsprung weight, which will upset the stock's comfort-oriented shocks and springs, and adversely affecting the ride and handling.
Well, anyway, whatever float your boat. I am just trying to provide some facts to back up my opinion, making it more than just subjective, and this may assist people on making their decision.

i also see your point of view and agree with you to a certain extent.
i also believe that anyone who is considering 22's for their RX could care less about ride or weight and is all about looks.
does it make as much sense as some engine upgrades? probably not.
will the big booty girls at the beach drop their panties for a lexus on 22's? probably yes.

I really don't know about that man, you crack me up.
Who's dumber? The guys who wishes to get some big booty girls dropping their panties by putting 22" rims on his Lexus, or that big booty girls who drop their panties for the Lexus with 22" rims
No matter what, probably I am the dumbest one. Never get any big booty girl.

Man, this forum has to have the FUNNIEST disagreeements! lol big booty girls.....can't loose on 22's......cant lose the 22's for the big booty girl........sheeesh!!!
On the RX you can run 22" however I would recommend a Forged wheel to help with impact absorbtion. Sometime later this year TOYO is slated to introduce a super low profile 24" tire (255/30-24 295/25-24) then you will see 24's on bicycles!
