35 lbs heavier, this is the car you should target to beat. I would like to see the dyno chart at lower RPM. RX330's peaks are 230 hp @ 5,600 rpm, 242 lb-ft torque @ 3,600 rpm.

Other interesting stats:

Horsepower 270 @ 6,200 RPM
Torque (lb-ft) 251 @ 4,700 RPM
0 - 60 mph (sec.) 7.4
Top Track Speed (mph) 112 (electronically limited)
1/4-Mile Acceleration (sec.) 15.7
Aerodynamic Drag Coefficient 0.35
Curb Weight (lb. / kg) 4,090 / 1,855
Weight Distribution (front/rear) 56.8/ 43.2

15.7 I saw for AWD the other day and 15.5 FWD. I mentioned on another thread that this sounds more conservative from usual Lexus 1/4 mile times. Remember the 99 AWD had 16.8 in the 1/4 mile. I would be running very close at sea level (where I assumed they must have done this testing) to the numbers for the AWD. Just wait until headers on my RX.

The RX has very good weight distribution, I am very surprised.

Or just update the hybrid powertrain for 300+ hp.

Fast forward to 2006, GS350's 2GR-FSE (3.5 V6) has more torque and hp than the 4.3 V8 in GS430, that is exciting. Acura RL has a V6 3.5 engine already pump out 290hp with under new SAE rating, and we are excited about a 275hp engine borrowed from Camry V6? Even IS has the keyless ignition with push button, the "new" RX350 does not have it according to another post by koolaidman. I am not as hyped about RX350 as I was last year, this looks more like a 2 year filler model until the next generation RX comes along.
Um no...the GS350's 2GR-FSE does NOT have more torque than the 4.3 V8 in the GS430. It has more HP though. 306 hp vs 300 hp. The GS430 torque is 320 lb-ft. GS350's torque is 277 lb-ft (I'm guessing it'll be rated the same as the IS350.) Although I have to mention that we're comparing new SAE to old SAE numbers here. Even if we converted the 3UZ-FE's number to new SAE I'm sure it'll still be producing more torque. A stock IS350 will dyno about 256 rwhp & 234 rwtq. A stock GS430 will dyno @ 235 RWHP and 252 RWTorque.

I would be more amazed to see them upgrade the internals of the tranny and the torque converter.

Peak HP/toqure is at one RPM point. Take a look Lexus' official side by side dyno of these two engines in the GS. 2gr-fse torque is significant flatter and higher than 3uz-fe at >4500rpm band. This means going after 4500rpm of first gear the V6's torque beats V8's when shifting down from redline.

Default I drove and am buying the RX350

The new EX350 definitely has more power than the 330. Mainly, it comes with a new stereo that has a SAT button on it and is pre-wired for SAT radio. The navigation unit is supposed to be 5th generation. My car arrives on March 11, so I haven't seen the new navigation system yet. I'll let you know if it is a big improvement after my new RX arrives. The hardest part is decidiing which color to go with. I'm leaning toward the white or breakwater blue. I need to decide by tomorrow. Doesn't matter in the long run, I know.

This is pretty amazing with regard to the V6 and the V8 in the first gear.

The 5th Gen NAV is extremely nice. You'll enjoy it.

Cheers,
