Rough acceleration
I noticed this rough engine noise during acceleration ( 1st gear) , sounds like gears skipping during engaged upon acceleration on my Rx 330 '06, i have only 360 miles and i'm thinking to bring my car to dealer, is this normal engine gearing response if you have AWD? the brakes squeaks also when i press the brake pedal . i 'd like to get advice from you guys about my problem, i hope this is not a MAJOR problem on my first lexus RX.
thanks,
thanks,

The brakes usually have a glaze that wears off after awhile (some say it doesn't), but that gives it some squeal. Every time I put new brakes on mine, I get that squeal for awhile.
With what you describe on acceleration, sometimes that 1st gear is longer upon hard acceleration and holds the RPMs out a little longer. I notice this on the track and when accelerating on to a highway, the first being when I use the PWR button in mine and the second when I don't. There is also this enormous roar (even before I did all my modifications).
I think that according to the manual on my RX, the second gear comes in during 40 mph or so.

It's hard to tell what is normal these days. Electronic transmissions act differently whether they are hot or cold. On the safe side, you'll need to log in the problem with Lexus.
They can fix the brake squeek, but call ahead for a loaner to be available for your use. It may take a few hours. Expect that they will turn your front brake rotors one millimeter on the car and inspect the pads.
You will want to have the lug nuts retightened to the correct torque value of 76 Ft. Lb. Too tight may rewarp the rotors.
A good investment would be a 21mm 1/2 drive deep socket and a China made 1/2 inch drive torque wrench. About $30 for both.

Using the PWR button will have the RPMs hold a little longer before the gears switch. This is great for use on the track in my case. With SNOW mode, the RX will start out in second gear.

I have never heard of a power button on the RX330. Perhaps, Lexmex has a special RX330 There is only the ECT snow button...that should be used in snow condition. Basically, what it does it skips 1st gear when ECT snow is enabled. It will start on second gear.
Lexigirl06,
I think your problem you are experiencing with your tranny....is the tranny delay issue. There is a TSB for that.

The 99-00 RX 300 has a two-position ECT switch - "PWR" and "SNOW".
From 01 on, it's just "ECT SNOW".
But we digress...
It's normal for the brakes to squeak if they're wet or if the car was parked in cool, humid conditions (which creates moisture buildup on the rotors = wet). They shouldn't squeak all the time, though.
And I'd agree that it's tough to tell what's "normal" with the transmission. I've give it at least a few hundred more miles before assuming something is wrong with the trans. You might be hearing engine noises, and not gears.

No, Lexmex has a 99 RX300.
What I was wonder is if that ECT SNOW button for you RX330 owners only lets you go into snow mode. On the RX300, we push the bottom of the button to go into snow mode and the top of the button to go into PWR mode. Sorry, but there is not another RX330 that I know about here in Mexico this far south to actually see it work.
