Default mileage on 350RX

Well, after I settled down and drove my 350 like a normal person should, I have the following results....Premium Gas....I got 26 mpg highway and 20 mpg city. I also used a tank of 87 octane with the following results.....22 mpg highway and 15 city. Now I don't have time to figure if its cheaper in the long run to use 87 octane or not....What are the rest of the RX350 owners averaging?? I think my city numbers will get better once I get used to the accelerator being so sensitive...

26??? How slow were you going on that highway? I'm glad I wasn't behind you.

In my 330 I get about 16 to 18 in the city, but 21 or 22 on the highway. I would think that a larger engine in the same car would get fewer mpg.

(Also note: AWD models weigh more and get fewer mpg than the lighter FWD models -- whether this is due to just the weight or to the weight and the transmission differences I'm not sure, but be sure not to compare the mpg from these RX cars without taking the AWD/FWD factor into consideration.)

I believe that new 2GR engine is a much more effiecient engine than the one in our RX330. They get more power and better fuel economy. I don't know what my city numbers are specifically, but I do know my combined city/highway is about 22 MPG on my 04. Total average MPG I have never dropped below 20 MPG. In fact, even with my 20" rims the lowest has been 20.XX. Mines a FWD though.

I've only got a little over 1600 miles but I'm getting a bit over 24 (mostly city) and 28 on trip (using cruise control about half the time). I'm hoping to get better milage when I stop having so much fun with the peppy engine. I did show above 30mpg for awhile on my longer trip but then I had to drive a bit of stop and go. My car is FWD. It's a RX350 and I use premium gas.

Default Average Mileage

Yeah, If I drive my 04 330 strickly on the freeway, I average nearly 24 mpg and that is with the wife driving it mostly and she has a lead foot.

Suprisingly in my Z4, if I average 80mph I have averaged nearly 28 mpg and this was really evident on a trip last year from San Diego to Santa Barbara. And around town I might get lucky to get 19- 20 but usually around 18 mpg since I don't drive much on the freeway with this car.

Have an '07 RX350 I purchased back on March 30th, and I have almost 3k miles on it from 3 business trips between MD and NJ. Generally drove 70-75MPH, and have had as high as 28.1 average between tankfuls on the highway. Overall, averaging between 23-24 MPG, combined city and highway driving on premium. Also have AWD...why would anyone buy an RX400 when you can get similar mileage #'s on the 350 for less money? Plus, I am still skeptical of the hybrid technology durability once this vehicle gets over 120k miles...my 2 cents

Quick suggestion - I wouldn't upgrade simply for the mileage. We get about the same mileage as you 17-18city and about 21 hwy.

We just upgraded from the 05 RX330 b/c I wanted more power and the new nav/bluetooth We've been VERY happy with the upgrade but the mpg is not any better. I think the earlier poster is dead-on about the FWD vs. AWD. Also - alot depends on your driving habits and the weight of your foot

I know how I drive and I would love to get 5+ more mpg but I don't think that will happen.

Additionally - both my wife and I work fairly close to our home so the engine doesn't even really get a chance to run while fully warmed up all of the time so I'm sure that comes into play a bit as well.

Anyway - we're very glad we did the upgrade. Nothing at all wrong with the 330 - we got the exact same color and everything just upgraded the engine and toys! We feel it was worth it, but I wouldn't make the decision based on reported MPG alone.

My 2004 RX330 AWD gets 20-21 in the city and 25-26 on the highway at a steady 75-80 mph using cruise and no AC. This is on 6 separate 1,600 mile cross country trips.

I have been very pleased with the mileage of this vehicle. I also noticed that I get better mileage when I burn gas without ethanol. The winter blends of gas really suck around here.
