2004 RX330 Question
Im looking into purchasing a 2004 RX330 It currently has the 18" wheels, but on the door plate it says 17 x 6 1/2 with the 225/65/17 tires.
My question is
Does this mean that its an AWD but the previous owner changed the wheels, or did some of the FWD versions come with 17" wheels
The RX is fully loaded nav, rear view camera, etc..
Thanks guys..

i don't believe the wheel size had much to do with the AWD vs. FWD. the 17's were supplied to certain regions. in So Cal all the RX's were equipped with 18's.
if the sticker on the inside of the door says 17, then most likely the previous owner had 17 stock, and then upgraded to the 18 later on (or the dealer might have done it as a dealer option).
if you are interested in AWD vs FWD, look at the VIN #:
RX330 VIN Info
Positions 1-3: Country and Manufacturer
JTJ = Japan
2T2 = Canada
Positions 4-8: Model and Powertrain
GA31U = RX330, 3.3L V6, 2WD
HA31U = RX330, 3.3L V6, AWD
Position 9: Check Digit (computed based on other digits)
Position 10: Model Year
4 = 2004
5 = 2005
Position 11: Manufacturing Plant
0 = Japan
C = Canada
Position 12-17: Serial Number

The sticker on the door jamb only describes the standard wheels for that model. Whatever prints the sticker doesn't know the wheel option has been selected... I've seen this on a couple of Toyota products. My RX 330 came with 18" wheels from the factory, but the sticker shows the 17" specs.
You can double-check with the Owners Manual, but the recommended inflation PSI on the sticker is usually correct (and always close) to the PSI for your wheels.

If you have the performance package yuo have the 18's as standard--
Sport package has adjustable suspension and sport shifter so you can tap fwd/back to select gears.
Easiest way is the performance package doesnt have a wood steering wheel or wood shifter ****.
