I have an AC fault on my new RX 350. Lexus Westminster replaced the compressor, but it reoccurred. In both instances it was fixed by turning the AC off then back on. The problem is that we have to do this after most engine restarts. Lexus HQ has acknowledge a problem with the 350 that it is working on. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

When did you take delivery? At what point (mileage/time since delivery) did the problem start to appear? We are only a few days (of driving) and 100 miles into the 350 experience. Is it a different part than what is on the 330? Did your search turn up anything in regards to the 330's having this problem? I know, too many questions.

Barabus,
I just posted a message asking about the "Check Air Conditioning" message that pops up on my Nav screen when I start the ignition on my new RX350. Are you seeing this message on your RX?
Mike

My wife has over 1,200 miles on her RX350 with no A/C issues yet. The car was a demo and had 828 miles when we purchased it 2.5 weeks ago.
Will be interesting to see what develops on this...

My wife just got her 350 last week with only 14 miles on it. The second day of driving had the Check AC warning and again two days ago. Our service rep said that Lexus was looking for a solution.

Remember..... This is the squeeky wheel. Stay on top of the dealers for a correction. Call weekly, get to know the service manager. Be a pain till it's fixed. Mention the lemon laws.
It is probably a false error presented by the A/C control module. My understanding is the A/C is functioning as designed.... producing cold air, when the error occurs..

We will definitely keep on top of it. It drives my wife crazy when the new, expensive cars do not work correctly. Luckily, we have a very good relationship with the service department at our Lexus dealership. Much better than what I can say about my BMW service for my car.

A/C failure was a common fault on the RX 300, less so on the RX 330 in just the right set of circumstances - when driving through a deep puddle at speed. It seems that water spraying up into the compressor would either cause the electric clutch to disengage or the drive belt to slip, also disengaging the electric clutch. The A/C vents would suddenly start blowing warm air and the light in the "Auto" button would flash. Although there was probably an expensive and elegant fix, I simply cycled the switch which ended the problem. At least until the next deep puddle. I've only had it happen a handful of times over two RX;s and six years.
