just trade it in for a RX 350, it will save you a lot of headaches.

Well, that's a pretty drastic solution to a little audio problem.

Maybe there is something less draconian that might fix the problem short of dumping the whole car. Even replacing the whole audio system (we don't even know if it's a standard sysem or a ML system) would cost much, much less that that, especially as the 350 isn't all that much different from the 330.

It is Normal to switch from CD to radio if there is a problem with the CD ... almost like default mode.
[For those who frequent car washes, need to keep this in mind and turn off audio as there is a chance of antenna going up when you dont want it to happen.]

The problem you are facing is to figure out why the CD is opting out. Do you get CD error message, or do hear CD trying to search and then give up?

There can be a problem with serial control protocal or cable/harness.

This is what I would do ...
1. Do not use copied cds [the ones that are not orignals are ever so slightly thicker] to see a change in behaviour.

2. Visit your trusted dealer to figure out what is going wrong. They may just replace components till the problem is fixed [Work with them as intermittent problems are so hard to reproduce].
