the advisor said if i think its fine then leave it, which means they wouldnt refund if it didnt do anything,

i was just wondering if it makes a big enough difference to warrant spending 100 bucks while my tranny operates just fine.

I agree. If there's nothing wrong, save the money. It doesn't sound like it will make a difference. Hopefully this won't make you hyper conscious now.

kiwi - I agree if you don't notice the lag in shifting that I wouldn't have it done or argue with the dealer to get it done for free. However, the TSB clearly states it falls under the emissions warranty that covers 96 month/80k miles. The dealer was slow to pull out tc005-03 and look at it with me, but once they did and read it, they agreed to do it for free.

Good info,
I noticed (especially when I used regular 87 octane gas) that hesitation is there when I tried to make quick lane changes and accelerate. It can be seems down right dangerous when the car hesitate in this situation. I'll call the SA to see if they will take the TSB under the Emissions warranty as mine is an 04.

Just picked up my RX after a TC005-03 and TC3001 recalibration done. The lag in shift from a rolling start is completely gone in the first 20 miles. I'll let you know how it's doing after 200 miles. The cost was $0.00. For those considering it, the Applicable Warranty stated on the TSB is :

This repair is covered under the Lexus Federal Emissions Warranty. This warranty is
in effect for 96 months or 80,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s
in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer’s specific complaint.

This is FREE under the TSB. Why pay? If yours truly exhibit the symptoms, they should do it for you under warranty.
