If a TSB was announced to update the ECU for the transmission for the 04 -05 RX330s to improve performance have they ever had a TSB to improve the performance of the ECU controlling the engine itself? I am not all concerned with gas mileage I want the performance if anything is available? Does anyone know? Thanks in advance.

Aloha,
Larry

The TSB for the trans isn't so much to gain extra performance - it's to attempt to resolve hesitant and sometimes abrupt shifting. The most common problem is that the trans doesn't want to downshift immediately because of the ECU's bias toward fuel economy. The TSB reprograms the ECU to reduce this indecision and believe it when the driver presses the gas harder in order to go faster.

I haven't seen a TSB for engine performance. There are probably aftermarket solutions by now for altering the behavior of the ECU for more horsepower or whatever, but that might void the warranty.

I have only seen one aftermarket ECU fix and that was that you had to remove your unit, send it to them and they reprogrammed it and sent it back. Are you aware of any easier solutions? Thanks again.
