Before I can answer that, 32k, you will have to email me a full size copy of the screensaver for my review.

I'll get back to you with a full report.

Unfortunately, Gen 3 NAV doesn't support it. Looks like you'll have no choice but to upgrade to the RX350. And don't forget to swap that Thundercloud grill

Yeah, 256 colors doesn't do the pornographic screensaver justice.

Default So CAN you view DVDs on Front Screen?????

i agree that nobody should be watching DVDs anyways while driving. however, i'm often parked waiting to pick up people and I always wondered if there's a way to watch it on the front nav screen so I can kill time while waiting for peeps. I currently have the Nav system...NOT the Mark Levinson on the 2007 RX350, but no Rear Seat Entertainment System.

so does anybody know if there really is a way to watch DVDs on the front screen? (actually i don't even see where you would insert the DVD.) i would think you can cuz isn't the Nav system based on a preloaded DVD insertable somewhere?????

any help is appreciated. thanks!!

if you don't have ML or RSES (both of which allow you to watch while parked), then you will have to go aftermarket. there are some integrated solutions available; i can't remember the names at the moment, but you could search for "DVD" in this forum to get more info.

and yes, you are right, the Nav is DVD-based, but the reader does not play video DVD's on the Nav screen.

p.s. welcome to Club Lexus!!

You can to get an OEM interface unit like those sold by VAISTEC and other comapnies. What is does is connect between your nav monitor and audio system using the stock wire harness and connectors. It allows seperate A/V inputs. You still need an external DVD player though.

Default Nav by-pass completed

I just got the front NAV bypass done Saturday (yesterday morning). It took about 1 hour and cost me $100. I can now see the video at any time during the operation of my 2007 RX350. I didn't do it to watch video while driving, but instead for my front passenger to watch and to be able to get past the intro menu screen on some audio DVDs.

For anyone thinking they can watch a video while driving, do not even ATTEMPT it. You'll be too distracted, no matter how safe you think you are.
