Just wanted to thank everyone for this thread. I installed the SLI-2UP to my 400h (Gen 5 NAV) today and it works like a charm. I fished the iPod/iPhone cord up into the glove box so no wires show I definitely wouldn't have had the confidence to do this myself without the write-up, subsequent comments and tips.

Now I want Lock Pick so the front passenger can access the touch screen while driving!

Not sure which device you are asking about, but I use my iPhone 4 with the PA15-TOY USA SPEC without any issues.

Tools you need:

- Ratchet with 10mm bolt head
- Ratchet extension wand – very important – 8-10” is about right
- Velcro for the SLI placement
- Flashlight
- Flathead screwdriver
- Towel

Optional tools (not required but helpful):

- Telescoping magnet tool
- Black electrical tape
Can you or any one please tell me if this procedure is also applicable to RX330 / 2004 with 6 CD changer, DVD entertainment and navigation? And how do I know which sound system I have. It is all factory installed.

Just did this install with a friend. Soooooo happy! flawlessly works with my Nano and BT as well form my iPhone. I am still a bit confused with the all songs setting as it's a strange set up. I will have to spend some time figuring this all out. The steering wheel controls seems to move a song forward and the console moves an entire album depending on what mode I am in.

Over all I am so glad to throw that cassette tape piece of junk in the garbage. Sound was never consistent and the messy wires looked sloppy.

PS: I forgot to add that it does not seem to recharge the Nano but again I need to look over all the instructions thoroughly.

Still seems kind of funky and no battery charging. I think the system works best when using play lists.

Really annoyed my iPod nano is not charging and I have no idea why. Kind of takes the whole fun and convenience from the $160+ I spent. I hope making a call to technical support will not turn me down cause I got it on ebay.

You might need to get an older Ipod. Apparently Apple changed the charging parameters (I believe the voltage went up from 5v to 12v) on the latest models and the car interface hasn't caught up with the change.

That would suck as it says on there site it is compatible with up to the 3G and I guess I would have to resell this nano for an older regular iPod . Well Thanks for the info Poisson. I will look into it.

The new Nano and all Ipods and iPhones made in the last couple of years need 5 volts to charge. The change was from 12V (or higher with firewire) to 5V (USB), not 5 to 12V. The USA Spec adapter should work with a new Nano. USA Spec added a 5 volt regulator to their cable a couple of years ago.

I have a PA 15 it works fine with my iPhone 4. You have something else going on.

One other thought. Since you bought this on Ebay it may be an older model that does not have the 5 volt adapter.

I have considered this I hope not. I will be so pissed off. I mean it's been months since I got the thing since it took me over a month to even install it.

Take a look at the cable that goes from the box to the iPod. If there is a small black cylinder (I beleieve this contains the 5 volt regulator) near the connection to the adapter box, you have the upgrdaded cable. The image below is the new cable.

You can buy it separately if you do not have it. Google CBP105 USA Spec.
