Hey everyone. I followed instructions posted in other threads on this forum and removed the silver/grey pinstripes off my black RX. It was very easy, but I don't know why the Lexus dealers in Seattle insist on putting these ridiculous things on their cars.
To me the car looks miles better without, but what do other RX owners here think?

The original dealer was Lexus of Bellevue, so you could be right. I live very close to Lexus of Seattle, so just to be sure before I did it I parked mine next to a black one they had without the pinstriping to compare, and that made my mind up. However Lexus of Seattle also have quite a few cars on their lot with pinstriping.
If you want to remove them from your GX it is really easy (using the hairdryer method).

My RX 300 had custom pinstripes by a well known local pinstripe artist - and they were absolutely beautiful. I let him choose the colors and placement. He laid on the standard side stripes with rather complex "arrowheads" on the forward ends - plus a matching set on the liftgate handle (where he also signed his work). the gold and burnished bronze stripes on the Golden Pearl finish were REALLY nice. When I bought the RX 330, I couldn't find a proper place to lay them - what with all of the lines, creases, and shadow lines on the Savannah Metallic finish, it looks like almost any placement would conflict with something. I do miss the custom look they provided though!
