check engine, oil, battery lights ON!! help
Hello all. I'm new!
$50,000 Miles
2004 Lexus RX330
Question...
When my car is in park the check engine, battery and oil lights are ON. I was told that this happens with these cars. When I start the car the lights go off, but it still worries me. Do all 330s do this while in park??
please advise..

When you trun the ignition to run ... one step before start, the idicators all go in to test mode ... the bulbs light up ensuring that the indicators are not blown ..
a good driver is supposed to observe that the lights do turn on.
Once the key is moved to start and RX starts, the key is released to turn back to run, the lights circuit starts monitoring the sensors.
Hope this helps.

Welcome to CL digitldiva!
Salim's correct - when the engine starts, all warning lights should go off, indicating normal operation. IF a light remains on, have the vehicle serviced immediately. Some indicators are more critical than others.
A friend restored a beautiful early '60's Buick convertible a few years ago. Going to work, he noiced the "oil" light was glowing brightly. "That's OK, I changed the oil just a couple days ago.", was his offhand remark to his passenger. About 20 miles down the highway, his "temp" light came on. "Must be something wrong with the light.", he mused. He arrived at work and shut the engine off - whereupon it seized, transforming itself into a V-8 coffee table.
They used to call them "idiot lights", but not all of us idiots were paying attention! You are wise to ask questions, some don't.
