Group buy.....come on.....TC Grille...waiting on us.....

Got the grille last week - prompt shipping and great service from Carson. Between a trip to Chicago (airplane) and then a day trip to Tahoe (airRX) I didn't get it slapped on until yesterday. As discussed, installation is a breeze. Five 10mm nuts and one pressure clip, along with a Phillips screw for the emblem, and bada boom.

After:
And a couple of before & after composites:
I really love the look of the grille - definitely an improvement in my opinion. I also like how it makes the RX look like a true sibling next to my wife's ES...
Definitely a mod I'd recommend.

Great, I want it too! How much did it set you back?
Anybody who's working on a group buy?

Has anybody tried stripping the OEM grille, if it is chrome underneath? Looks like it. I wonder if it will look good with the chrome look.

I can't imagine chrome being underneath, but I suppose anything is possible.
I bought from L-Tuned: http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=728
They also offer a chromed standard grille: http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=2232

If you at the back of the OEM grille, you can see that it is chromed. Just like my 3.2 TL's Acura's Gear Shift Plate, turns out it was the same as the RL's, except that it was painted. I actually just stripped the paint and kwala....it was nicely chromed.

Sewell Lexus on line has a group buy price of $308.....I sent a pm to Darryl. Anybody's seen this cheaper? I thought somebody did, like $290.

I'd be interested in a group buy as well. Though, if something else comes out aftermarket, upgrading to a "stock" part for that much money is a bit much. Yet, still different, and looks better. I have seen some "billet" style grills for the RX's, has anyone else?

$316 is definitely cheaper than anything I found. No doubt it's an expensive mod, especially when you take it out of the box and realize how small and light it is. For me, it was worth it - the look of the front clip seems much more integrated and attractive now.

I am with you....I love the horizontal grille....hence they use them on the sedans....how do you convince the wife to buy into it????....that's the challenge.
I will get the pictures lined up, so she can check them out...I know it is a lost cause....but worth the try...she's gonna go, what's the difference? Worse yet, she would say, I do not like the TC Grille, then it's kaput! Move on....

What kind of a whipped weenie do we have here?
Just do it and see if she notices, and any discussions end with "I'll be in charge of the cars."
