What are your 3 LEAST favorite things about the RX?
#31
I knew some one would jump on the 15 seconds. No its not a deal breaker, I bought the car, but the title of this thread has to do with the least favorite things about the RX. For some its the "I Agree" button. To me that is no big deal, takes a split second and is now routine.
As for my Wife's consideration. I bought the car for her and she is the primary driver. I only drive it when we go places together and there isn't much predictabilty to it. So why should I expect her to move the seat? Besides she pushes my other buttons.
Oprah doesn't do that.

Onde of the things that really annoys me about the RX330 is the lack of a rear parking / proximity sensor. Almost all other manufacturers offer this feature as standard equipment or as part of a package. This has been available on lesser vehicles since 2001. In fact, many companies also offer it on the front as well. An SUV is partly indended for adverse weather conditions such as colder temperatures yet Lexus does not offer a heated steering wheel - a welcome feature on those icy cold mornings when the heater has not yet warmed the cabin but it is still necessary to get going...and once again offered by MB, Cadillac, etc. In Canada at least, Lexus offers a premium pkg and a top of the line pkg with nav, back up camera, rear entertainment and Levinson system. As a single guy, I would not mind having Levinson or the Nav and backup camera but i have no use for the RES and refuse to purchase something which will never be used. As a result, I own 2 RX's both with the premium pkg. Overall, however, I have been pleased with the vehicles.

The backup camera is a part of the NAV system, which is a stand alone option.
I have the NAV on my RX, and do not have the RSES, as I have no use for that. They do not have to be purchased together.
As for the heated steering wheel, that's hardly high on the top of my option list; I think the heated seats are living large.
On the other hand, I don't live in Canada, and never drive on tundra.

3 LEAST favorite things :
- "I Agree" and no input while driving
- No display of outside temperature
- Center console cup holder
4 things that should have been there (in the 07 RX350) :
- Ventilated seats like the ISx50
- Keyless Smart Access with push button start
- Power Rear Window Sunshade
- 12V in the center console

My three least favorite things:
Poorly designed cup holder, doesn't actually "hold" well at all.
Skinny and non-adjustable arm rests
So many functions of nav system locked out while moving

3 least favourite items on RX
As I said before, I find it annoying that the Canadian Ultra premium package must be purchased with: Nav, Rear Camera, Mark Levinson and RSES together. There is no possibility of ordering Nav, Rear Camera and Levinson without the RSES. Unfortunately, that is how Toyota markets the RX here. How they choose to package the options in the USA is different despite the fact that many RX's originate from the same plant on the tundra, I mean in Cambridge a short distance west of Toronto.

The NAV and rear camera are always together; neither is available without the other. Often the NAV and ML are packaged together because they both appeal to the same kind of buyer, and although they are available separately, they are most often found in the same car together. As for packaging both of those with the RSES, that's just stupid. Almost no one wants the RSES -- it's a very limited market for that. If Canadian Lexus only offers these three together and none of them separately, I would not be a happy RX shopper.
I agree with our friend from the north -- that's just plain wrong.
Somebody should tell them.

Paying 10-15% more here in canada compare to US is enough to be pissed off. Also, a lot of options are simply not available here :
- Dynamic Laser Cruise Control
- Four-wheel air suspension (I have it on my 2003 4Runner Limited...)
- Five-speed sequential-shift automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission

According to my dealer, the dynamic cruise control is not available in most of the US either. It's available in the south and the west, because the sensors on the front bumber easily get covered with snow and slush and that shuts down the system.
As if we would be using cruise control on snowy roads!

I got the RSES. I play Halo in the back seat while my wife drives on long trips. It also comes in handy at LAN parties. I bring my wireless and sit out in the RX and play my buddies.

my 3 least favorite things:
1) small stock wheels & rims.
2) the auto re-circulate/fresh mode for the a/c
3) the tranny. horrible shifting! even after the "fix".

1) Lack of coin box or small bin for coins. The one in the center console only holds $2 worth of quarters = 2 hours of parking meter fee in Boston.
2) Lack of under seat storage bin for small items like portable GPS, camera, etc.
3) Smart key like ES350
