Setting up pressure sensors for new wheels
Just bought a nice set of wheels with Blizzaks for winter. Ordered them with the tire pressure sensors, looks like will have to take to the dealer to program in the numbers for the new sensors. Anybody know how this can be done by a do-it-yourselfer....or do I just need the dealer to do it. Thanks for any information.

(Assuming you're talking about an RX350... the RX330 doesn't use active sensors.)
If the RX350's sensors are like other Toyota products, the dealer will have to do the registration using their hand-held computer. The transmitter ID numbers need to be keyed in by the tech, so make sure you get a list of ID numbers from whoever sells you this stuff. The ID number is on the sensor, so they better write it down before they mount the tire!

Thanks for the prompt reply. Yes to the RX 350....and the Tire Rack did put the sensor ID numbers on the wheels. I will note them before I install the wheels. Thanks again for the info.

Perhaps, use a permanent Sharpie marker and write down the sensor number on the flat inner surface of the wheel, where it mates to the hub. It's shouldn't wash off if placed there, yet available when and if needed.
