Just purchased our leased RX. Also had the carpet post recall taken care of. They also washed the RX & filled the tank up.

Purchased a extended warranty too. Added 3 years & 100K bumper to bumper for $1800.

Would have lost lots of money if I just turned it in as they are asking about $6000 more on the lot then what I paid. Anyone else purchase their leased RX?

What was the terms of your orginally lease?

3 Year, 55K miles or 1800 per month.
I had a 23K buyout at the end of the lease.

i've never purchased a leased car, i usually just turn them in. if you were very over mileage, you made the right choice.

dealers mark up the CPO's a lot, but they won't get that much. i've contemplated buying out my leases in the past for the same reason you did, but the residuals have been spot-on in terms of private party value, so i just gave it back. the dealers certify them and mark them up several thousand dollars, but i would say after negotiating they only get ~1500-2000 more than residual.
