Default RX350 RSES input question

Is it possible to view and hear whatever you hookup to the RSES inputs (audio & video) through the NAV screen and the ML speakers?

I know we can play DVD and CD but is the RSES able to link the input signals to the Nav ?

Thanks !

Yes, see thread from about three weeks ago. We get that question a lot here.

Under "Search" function, enter RSES, Nav and select the RX forums - including "child" forums to get a complete listing of references. Here's one:

I think you misunderstood my question...

Let say I hookup a VCR to the video and audio input located in the trunk. I want to watch whatever it is on the VHS cassette in the Nav screen and hear the audio in the car speakers.

Is that possible ?

Yes, I've done it on the 330, hooking up a video walkman (8mm VCR/TV) to the inputs in the rear deck. Plugging an RCA connection into these inputs disconnects the DVD player and displays video on the front and rear screens, and audio is directed to the AUX (RSES) location.

No, the Nav DVD is buried deep in the rear compartment and the software is designed to read a DATA DVD, not MPEG-2 files. If you want to view movies in your RX, there are plenty of headrest-mounted self-contained players and monitors available, some of which are equal to or superior to the OEM unit.

Search this forum for specifics using the "Advanced Search" function in the blue bar above, or go to the specialty "Electronics" forum and try a search there. You'll find a number of solutions from mild to wild, depending on your budget and the use you intend to make of this feature.
