Default Alpine Navigation

Does anyone know if any Alpine Navigation systems are compatible with the RX 350? I'm specifically interested in purchasing the Alpine NVE-N872A with an in-dash headunit.

Not without making modifications:

To install this product, you’ll have to modify your vehicle. This can involve cutting wires, plastic, or metal; you might even have to fabricate brackets, panels, or other parts. Our installation instructions do not cover these types of modifications. We strongly recommend calling a Crutchfield Sales Advisor to discuss your installation requirements.
HERE's a link to Crutchfield's What Fits Your Car wizard. It seems they don't have anything for the RX350 yet, but have a few under the RX330.

I have the NVE-N872A Alpine navigation in my 05 RX300. It's hooked up to the IVA-D310 indash multimedia headunit. (You could also use Alpine's IVA-D100 or IVA-W200) But I also replaced all the other components of the stereo system (amplifiers, subs, speaker, etc.). Another option would be Alpine's portable Blackbird navigation unit. It comes with a suction cup mounting kit and plugs into the cigarette lighter. Portable, so you can take it from car to car, or when you travel.

As everyone posted above, the Alpine Nav is not compatible with Lexus navigation and OEM equipment. Lexus uses Fujitsu-Ten for their OEM navigation which is what Eclipse is based on. However, as a complete stand alone system you can install whatever you want in your car so in that case you can use the Alpine navigation in your RX or any car for that matter. It will just be a complete stand alone installation.

My guess is if you are asking this question you don't have the OEM navigation so you don't have the nav screen. If that is the case you can do what rich001 did and use the Alpine touch screen headunit and Alpine navigation system (D310, W300). I too have an Alpine D310 in my 04 RX330 with other Alpine multimedia equipment. I don't have the nav part, but that is as easy as buying the unit and hooking it up.

PS. If you don't need full multimedia control (Independent control of multiple video sources and headrest monitors) I'd go for the Alpine W200 2DIN head unit as opposed to the flip out DIN D310. I have both W200 and D310 in my cars and both are very similar and good, but the D310 has more control over video since it can accept the VPE-S431 A/V expansion module. The W200 can't. The W200 though uses the high speed i-Pod connection.
