RX 350 with 18" wheels want 17"
Hi everyone, I just got me an RX350 2007 on 10/03/06 loaded, but I now realize that the 18" wheels (Original) I got might look great on the suv but I wish I could get a smoother ride so if you have some 17" wheels (original 2007) and are willing to sacrifice the ride for the look send me an e-mail and will swap them. Don't care about the mileage mine have about 650 miles and are perfect with no signs of damage anywhere. five spoke silver coated. if in southern california better we do it asap before we screw up our rims.

My RX330 Thundercloud came with 18" rims standard (part of the Thundercloud package). I test drove RX's with both 17 and 18 inch rims and found no difference in ride between the two. However you may want to check the tire pressure. I have found on a couple occasions that during servicing the techs put the pressure up around 36 to 40 psi. That can make a definate difference in the ride. The sticker on the doors states 30 psi but I know many people run them a little higher. I run mine at 34 psi. Also what may make a difference in the ride is the tire brand. Some brands tend to ride stiffer than others. You didn't mention the tire brand in your post. Mine came with the Michelin MXV4's.
2005 RX330 Thundercloud, Gray/Black Interior with Black Birdseye Maple, NAV, ML, HID with AFS, Rain Sensing wipers, Tow Package with OEM Hitch, Michelin MXV4's on 18" Thundercloud rims.
1998 GS300 (Previous and 1st Lexus) Wish I still had it.

I've never seen a West Coast RX with 17" wheels. The package that includes the 18" wheels seems to be standard for this region. My RX400h rode a little stiff at slow speeds when I got it and I found that the tires were all set at 45 psi. Apparently the cars are shipped with high pressure to keep the tires from flat spotting. They're supposed to be reset to 30 prior to delivery. DakotaRX might be right about the high pressure. The ride with the 18's seems good to me at 32 psi.

I will buy your 18s!
Hi,
I am looking for a set of RX 18s for my '07 Sienna minivan. I will buy them from you and I live near L.A. too so no shipping hassles!
Check out the wheels forum if you haven't already. Many of the LS and GS guys have stock 17s I believe. Not sure if they would be the right size for the RX though.
Let me know if you would be interested in selling them and then you can get whatever 17s you want and get the exact tires you want too. Of course, I realize you would need the 17s first...thanks!

I'm keeping my 18" wheels
Thanks for the info guys, I lowered down the tire pressure on all four tires down to 28 psi and now the ride is really smooth. I am keeping the sotck wheels they are awesome. I found out the the RX wheels in 17" come in six spokes not in five and they don't look as good.
