Using a dremel tool I removed right side plastic bracing on the glove box. This will let the wire rest on top of the glove box and be out of the way for the cup holder.

Had to use the dremel on top of the glove box. You can't see this if you didn't know it.

Spotnsabby,

Is your brace attached at the right end? If so, where and how?

Spotnsabby,

I assume the area of the glove box that you "cleaned up" is the top, right, rear. Correct?

Was there more than enough slack in the evil cable after you removed the cable clamp from the metal bar, or just enough? When I eyeballed my situation, I thought I actually might have to kind of take out the top, right, rear of the glove box (not just clear the bracing) to allow the evil cable to move far enough to the left to allow the cup holder tray box to clear it. Did I judge that wrong?

Rx400h4jim,

The brace you are talking about, I did screw it to the end of the pic in post #15. If you look on the far left of the pic you can see a screw. I made a L shape in the brace to screw it off.

The glove box was cleaned up on the top rightside. I didn't cut through the glovebox, only the plastic bracing on top of it.

The cable will lay on top of the box once you take it out of the wire strap.

I hope this will help you. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Spotnsabby,

I can see where you attached the brace on its left side. I was curious if and where you secured the right side of the brace since it's hidden in your picture.
