How bad is the resale value going to drop when the 09s come out in a year and a half?

I'm also not crazy about the price right now. Lexus also offers a higher level of service from what I understand.

What is the RX going for with navigation in the north east? I'm seeing different "invoice" prices in different dealerships with what appears to be the same package. Is this possible?
We got our RX350 with the Premium Plus Package. This includes most options like AWD, Heated Seats, HID lights, Navigation, Blue Tooth, Voice Recognition, Back-up Camera, 18" Wheels, 6 Disc In-Dash Changer with MP3, etc. Things like power rear hatch is standard. All this for approx $41k! I think it's a good deal.

As for the MDX, yes we looked at it too. The Lexus won us over in the end because honestly we liked more things about the Lexus than we did the Acura. We didn't like the bulkiness of the MDX (and especially that transformer type grill). We didn't care for the 3rd row seat which I still think is useless unless you have a large family(more than 2 kids). Interior space including cargo space is approx the same between the two. Power and acceleration between the two is also about the same. Fuel economy is better on the Lexus because it's about 500lbs lighter (probably because there is no 3rd row seat). Handling is better on the MDX (but if you're concerned, you can increase the handling on the Lexus with sport springs for $300 and it should be pretty close to the Acura). I think the Lexus will ultimately give you more of the luxurious ride and the MDX will be sportier. Yes the Lexus will offer better service. Also note the MDX will have it's first year flaws. If you care about the name, I think we all know which one has a higher status.

the RX has had the same body since 99, and the LX since 98, so if the LX is really old, so is the RX. both have only small changes (lights, interior, etc)

The RX was completely re-designed for the 2004 model year.
