Default 6 speed transmission

As you know the RX is based off the Camry and ES platform. Since the Camry/ ES350 has the new 6 speed automatic I am surprised that the RX350 is still using the 5 speed transmission from the RX330. Seems odd that the Toyota has the newest hardware while the RX continues along with the previous transmission. Maybe the 2008 will come with the 6 speed.

I would rather have Lexus take the time to get this one right. With the RX300, I have never been a fan of its transmission. A Toyota mechanic down here once told me when I took it in for an alignment several years ago that the RX300 tranny looked a lot like the RAV-4 tranny up on the same rack. Maybe Lexus got a hint.
