NAV TSB fix for RX350
http://www.alldata.com/tsb/Lexus/116...3R-06/131.html
Anybody know if the new disc will render the NAV hack unusable for the RX350s (at least those that currently allow you do the NAV hack)? I heard from a poster who installed an updated disc and could no longer do the NAV hack and I'd hate to lose the NAV hack capability.

According to other posts, yes, word is that the new software patch on the disc breaks the hacks.
If you have the disc replaced under the TSIB, they'll give you a new "program disc", or the one the comes with the car from the factory. It does NOT have the latest map and POI's - it just has a patched version of the software on it.
If you buy an "update disc" with the latest map, it also has the patched software, so you'll solve the problem that way, too.
Either way, word on the forums is that it will disable the hack.

I have yet to take the car in for its 5,000 miles service. Do dealers automatically write up the TSB fixes (in which case I'd have to request that they not perform this particular fix) or do they not bother unless the customer requests them?

You have to ask to have work done for TSB's. Since they're not recalls, you have to demonstrate that your car has the problem it addresses, even if it's within the applicable model year/VIN range for the TSB.

I have had my RX350 since August and I this NAV issue happened to me last week when I was on vacation. I will be taking my RX in for the 5,000 mile service in about a month, so I will have them look at it then.
