Leaving the switch in the on position is what you want. The 'on' really means 'on when door is open'. The light will turn off automatically when you close the hatch.

The VAIS ipod adapter offers both, a hook-up for an ipod as well as an additional aux input. This means you can connect your ipod AND another device to your factory radio. Also remember that this system is a direct input to your factory radio which is MUCH MUCH MUCH better than an FM transmitter. Your ipod will sound like a CD player...about as good as it gets in your car.

Lots of people put the ipod hookup in the glove box. This is great because you have no wires that show to worry about and your ipod will be secure in the glovebox. You can access your ipod through your NAV screen and play whatever you like all the while your ipod is charging! Pretty nice!
