Default How can I get Lexus pre-owned certification on my 04 RX330?

Does anyone know how to get Lexus used car certification on used RX330? the same certification that dealer offered as Lexus certified pre-owned car…
I just brought 04 Rx330 with 38K miles on it and I’ve only 3 months remaining on my warranty… it wasn’t certified and brought it from a local independent dealer.
I really want to get a certification on my RX330 and hopefully during the certification inspection process, they’ll find some problem and fix it under warranty.
Has anyone done this before? How much does it cost and is possible on my RX330, too?
thanks

I don't think you can do that, because of the process used by the dealers to qualify and prepare a car to be sold as CPO. However, the CPO "warranty" which runs 3 years from the date of purchase is the same thing as the highest level Lexus Extended Warranty, which you can buy from any dealer prior to the expiration of the original 4 year warranty.

Most observers, however, consider it a bad buy; you are generally better off going without the extended warranty and paying for whatever repairs are needed as they happen.

Not everyone comes to this same conclusion, of course, and you can find lots of long discussions on the the subject here by searching for the discussions of "extended warranty."

You should contact your Lexus dealers and see if they'll do it. Your car will probably have to meet the Lexus standard for CPO. I'm guessing any items need replacing not covered by warranty will have to come out of your pocket before they offer you an opportunity to buy the extended warranty. Good luck!!

I've heard it cost someone $150 to do the Certification... maybe I'm wrong.

Do you want inspection or extended warranty?

It seems you want detailed inspection done and if needed the repairs done under base warranty. Give service dept a call and talk to them. Just make sure that the list of items they inpect matches your expectations. If you have been taking your RX for scheduled maintenace, you have a few alredy inspected.

If inspection is the only thing, you may opt for independant shops like lemon busters etc. [No, I dont have any experience with them, nor do I endorse them].

When you are paying for the inspection, I think a third party may give you unbiased input.

Unless, I am mistaken, no-shop who does the inspection ever stand behind the things they say are OK. In other words, if you encounter a problem, I doubt if they will give you the money for repairs.
