Which RX350 is worth the money?
Does anyone know when the 2008 Lexus RX350 is going to be on the lot? I have asked a couple of dealers but all I am getting is the runaround. I am still debating about whether to get an 07 or an 08 mainly because I'm trying to get one with the Navigation/Mark Levinson Package -the Rear Seat entertainment system. I have been trying to look for an 07 with these options but all of the dealers that I talk to say that it is very rare to get an RX350 with NAV/Mark Lev without the RSES. They say that the only way to get what you want is to do a factory order and that would be for an 08!! But I definitely don't want to pay MSRP for an 08 when I can get an 07 with the same options for a much better price. So what you guys think should I go for the 07 or wait for the 08? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have you asked the dealer to locate the specific 07 for you? I assume you have and they can not find one. The next option would be used as 07 are no longer being manufactured. For new you have no choice but to get 08 as factory order.
The other thing to keep in mind about Lexus is that the dealer work with allocation... sort of like limited distribution. To maximize their profit as you move up on installed options they kind of keep layering on. It is like option1 + option2 + option3 instead of option1 + option3.
Specail order is always handled by Lexus. When they are imported from Japan, one needs to order 3 months before end of model year production. [3months is my estimate, ask the dealer for the right answer].

I think you should expand the question to "go for the 07, or 08 or wait for the 09?" since 09, coming out in about one year, will be redesigned with brand new body style and a third row seat (?). You may not want to wait that long but you need to think about it first.

dealer should be able to get you a specific rx350 in about 4 weeks, they can do a BOS change since the units are produced in north america, they change a specific unit that is allocated but not yet produced and can build it to your exact specs much faster than a japanese special order unit

Dont you think the assembly lines have transitioned over to 08 production already? Are you suggesting they will manufacture 07 on request evne now?
