its located behind the glove compartment. You have to remove the drawer (i think there are some easy screws) and then its pretty much self explanatory from there

I posted a "how to" on this sometime last year. The gist of it is to turn the two thumb screws that look like hinges. Once the thumb screw is removed the glove box swings down and you will see the filter. I have heard it is activated charcoal but not seen anything to that effect in print.

Default 10-4 Thanks (service rant follows, read at your own risk)

This is another do it yourself and avoid the $200 oil changes dubbed as "10,000, 15,000 etc services". Lexus really rubs me the wrong way with this stuff.

I prepared a list of 4 items for my wife to have done when she took her car in last week at 10,000. One was an oil change the other three warranty type items. Well the Service advisor turned it in as a 10,000 mile service, ding $179.

An oil change was only $40 or so. Well in reading the 4 pages of invoices all they did was change oil, rotate tires and road test. They had to road test anyway due to a brake complaint. Bottom line when I found this out I called the guy and asked if my wife had given him a written list of what we wanted done which he indicated she had done. He had no explanation other than it was time for the 10,000 service as to how we jumped from that list to a "service". If you read your service manual a couple items on the minor scheduled maintenances are "if necessary" such as torquing the transaxle bolts. Can anyone tell me how you can tell if they need torqued unless you actually put a torque wrench to them. These item are listed on the service invoices the same way, they don't say they performed them, they say they performed it if necessary.

Now they know, you know and I know these minor services are nothing more than an oil change plain and simple. I went through this same thing with our old Lexus to the tune of hundreds of dollars. Now don't get me wrong, I am a firm believer in maintenance, to the extent I perform some items more than recommended. It is just that I don't feel it right or necessary to pay the dealer to perform overpriced "maintenances" and would rather pay for transmission oil changes, coolant flushes and brake flushes instead, thus getting something for my money that really does do some good and extend the life and service of my vehicle. There, I'm done.

How do u think the dealers can build such nice buildings & give you all those nice extras like different types of coffees, cookies, etc. At no charge so you think at least.
They can do it by Charging you big bucks for service items, that would be my guess.
Do it yourself & save $$$.
