i tried a search but came up on instructions only for the rx300.
My passenger HID bulb burnt out. Id like to replace it however there is just no room to get my hand in there. so does anyone know how to remove the headlights completely from the truck. also whats a good replacement for the stock HID bulb on a 2005 rx330. thanks

hmm, i change my bulbs a few times, but there is no need for me to remove the headlights, just twist the rubber seal, remove the metal lock, and off it goes
try to get ur hands on a pair of genuine phillips 6000k, 85122 WX (i think so abt the wx thingy)

well good news and bad news. good news is i got the headlights off and took pics, so ill post how to do it. but bad news is.. the bulb is not burnt out. i even swapped the two and still not working so im screwed. the wiring looks fine, no cuts or tears, theres no trace of water for it to short circut. im thinking a module or something malfunctioned.

then remove third bolt with is located behind the headlight. in the case for the driver side, its by the battery and fuse block

the last bolt is a little harder to get to. i actually had to remove part of the bumper, or at least pull it down enough to get to the bolt.

this next step is to gently pry up on the plastic tab to release it from the notch. (this is the same location as in step number 2.)

then finaly gently pop out the front of the headlight from the retaining clip

its not that hard, just be patient, and carefull not to break any of the tabs. the one suggestion i have is definitly remove the front bumper. makes it so much easier and less of a chance to scratch or damage something.

If you're only changing the bulb, you don't have to remove the headlight assembly, nor the bumper. There is a 4" grey plastic disc at the back of the headlight with a molex plug and 3 fins. Unplug the molex and turn the disc about 1/8 of a turn counter-clockwise, using the fins. Then pull out the disc. It fits in tight with an o-ring. Inside is a metal cup, about 2" in diameter. It similarly comes of with a bit of a twist. Then there are 2 spring metal clips that are pushed inward and flipped down. The bulb should just pull out at this point, or perhaps with a slight twist. DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS PART OF THE BULB! The bulb will run you about $130 at Autozone and they'll have to special order it for you. It's a a D2S. I suggest swapping the left with the right first to see if the problem is the bulb. In my case, it wasn't, so I cancelled my order with Autozone. I'm thinking it's my ballast. I've got a used headlight assembly coming from eBay, as they're about the same $ as a ballast alone. I WILL have to drop my bumper to complete this project.
