Whenever I start my RX, I smell strong odor of gas; especially, when I start from my garage (the whole house smells gas). What could be the problem? Thanks!!

We had a similar thread couple of days back.

If your mpg is good and you dont have smell after parking (leaks), my first guess woud be unburnt exhaust at time of start which are being dispersed based on wind direction.

So how long of "self" you have to give before the engine catches? How fast is your battery able to spin the engine during start? [After switching to Optima my starter spins quite a bit faster and "self" is just a second long]

Thanks Sal.. I guess i will take to the dealer and let them take a look at it before my warranty expires..
