Default Lockpick 3 for RX350

Hi guys - I'm thinking of buying the basic Lockpick 3 for my RX350 to get rid of the evil "I Agree" screen and to unlock the nav system and bluetooth.

The Coastaletech site says it's an easy 5 minute install with no cutting of wires etc but I can't find anywhere on the site where it actually details the installation procedure.

I'm not real clever when it comes to pulling the dash apart, so before I commit, I'm wondering whether anyone here has installed the Lockpick product and whether you could give me some idea of what's involved.

Many thanks in anticipation.

I've read that it's a quick install that involves removing one panel in the cargo area to get at the Nav Data unit (with the DVD in it).

Unfortunately, I've also read it don't work so good on 350s, especially if they have 6.1 Nav. I really hope that's wrong, because I'd LOVE to get an Ultimate Lockpick 3 for my wife's 350 (currently v5.1 but will undoubtedly get upgraded at some point).

You willing to be our guinea pig?

Thanks for the info. How do I tell if I have 6.1 Nav?

I have the Lockpick 3 Basic and tried it on my 07 Rx350 with map ver 6.1 - it sort of works...

The install is very easy. Just remove the tray in the rear that has the jack in it, it's held in by two black push type pins (just pry them out with a flatblade). Unplug the cable closest to the front of the car in the back of the nav dvd player and insert the LP3 cable then plug the removed cable back into the LP3. Takes all of about 3-4 minutes.

When you re-start the RX it will re-load the s/w (ver 6.1) from the dvd, you will see a message on the nav display as it loads. It will do a reset when complete.

THEN-

The "I Agree" will come on. The Lockpick 3 (I have the $99 basic unit) does NOT remove the "I Agree" screen.

There is some better news with the nav, though.

To unlock the destination buttons while driving you press the pushpin in the upper left of the destination screen - the LP3 will electronically disable the speed sense to the nav and you will be able to enter destinations, look at poi's, etc. However, this is somewhat flakey as the icons will come on then grey back out, then come back on and while in this mode the nav will not be tracking you as it doesn't know your speed.

I called Coastal when I received my unit. They swear that this works with the 07 RX350 and ver 6.1. They sent me a second unit and it operates the exact same as the first one. When I called them back they insist that there is something wrong with my RX as it should work perfectly.

So, it doesn't work for me -
