RX330 Hidden Tips and Tricks
.
As a new owner of a pre-owned 2005 RX330 (less than 24-hours ago), I was wondering if there are any obscure tips, tricks, hints, etc. that you could share with me (and other owners).
I'm referring to items that may not be in the manual(s), or if they are, they are not so obvious. I also have the navigation system, so any tips on that would also be welcomed.
Thanks!

i have a good one that i found out after 3 years of ownership.
in the trunk, you have the two spaces underneath that can be opened with a push of a button.
if you lift up those two covers for the storage bins so that they are perpendicular to the trunk floor, and if you see there are two hooks under the covers, you can hang grocery bags on them so that they will not move around.

Here's a tip--in those storage bins, it seems whatever I put in those bins make a lot of noise sliding around when making turns. So, I'm thinking about getting those non-skid drawer liners that you put in drawers to keep items from sliding around, and cutting them to size. Has anyone done this?

Not much of a free tip and trick but why not just get a cargo net for your grocery bags? I have the rubber cargo protector and it's kind of a pain to get into those storage bins which is why I use the net.

Alright, I bought those "rubber-ish" drawer liners and cut them to size last night. I put it all four of the rear compartments, as well as in the floor tray (below and in front of the middle console).
They all work well. The items I have in the rear compartments do not slide around and do not make noise! It also works nice with the bottom console tray (on the floor). My cell phone doesn't slide around any more. Now I'm thinking about cutting some to fit the botton of the front door pockets.

RX Shopping Cart Trick
Okay, go to a smoothly paved, large store parking lot. Since you're there, (being the good time manager you are) do a little shopping. Cash is better.
Find a straight shopping cart with no wobble (my preference is black but chrome will do). This trick is faster on carts without "wheel locks"; Place front of cart (handle side) against front middle of RX.
CAUTION: Do not scratch your Bamboo Pearl and don't forget your groceries?
Get in driver seat; Carefully accelerate, without running over cart... When you get up to about 30 MPH, hit brakes, launching cart in desired direction of travel (over speed bump gets air); Observe cart mods after crash. NOTE: Advise not to hang around for long if store security or other touchy establishment types around.
Hope this helps!

I purchased a cargo net for the RX 350 but haven't had a chance to install it yet. They come with a template so you can mark exactly where to drill the holes. There is only one version. Cost is about 35 bucks, I got mine from lexus parts.com. I have had them on other cars and they really work great. Jim
