I always thought that the Americans and the Europeans' transmission are more heavy duty, especially in their trucks.

Trucks are US territory.....Japan can not come close....they are trying hard. They are not used to BIG cars. Toyota put up the Truck Plant in TX, home of the pick up truck! Nissan is trying hard....failing though....

Have you test drive the new Tundra, all I can say is OMG, much better than the F150.

Oh yes, I have and yes, big difference. The thing is, market share for F-150 and Chevy are still strong....but eroding every single day....but Americans love the American Truck!

i find the whole "made in america" or "made by a foreign company" thing funny since a lot of car from foreign based comapnies are made here in the US or north america, while a lot of "american" cars are made overseas.

Default Does 2006 Rx Tranny need the TSB shifting enhancment

Hey all, I have a 2006 that has the hunting and hesitation with the shifting at low speeds. Does anyone know if the TSB put out in 2004 also applies to the 2006? I want to be prepared in case I get push back from the dealer when I request it?

I'm quite concerned about the tranny issues I've read about here. I switched to Lexus recently after onwing GMs to hopefully get better reliability (I keep my cars for 8 to 10 years) but it looks like I may be in for some dissappointment down to the road with this Lexus.

Thanks!

You should be good for your decision for a Lexus. The tranny is more of a disappointment that a real defect issue. But I understand pet peeves, too. If there is something that makes you fell unhappy....it can harbor deep disatisfaction. Hopefully as you drive your Lexus, some of the pluses cover up the tranny short coming. The tranny issue is in all years of the RX330-350. it is more common in the rx330's but is still going on in the 350's. While some people are right its more of an annoyance, but it can also be a safety problem. the thing i find the most annoying is that this is happening a in car this expensive.

Thanks guys, I guess I will ask the dealer to do the tsb work on my vehicle. I agree it is a safety issue as it happens while I'm in the middle of an intersection making a turn and it make me wonder if the thing is going to suddenly stall or in bumper to bumper traffic just leap forward and hit the car in front of me.

Thanks again!

That is what distinguishes a BAD dealer versus a GOOD dealer...too bad sometimes the next dealer is a hundred miles away....

Hello All,

I am new to this forum but I am also experiencing tranny problems. I just had my RX330 in for a service last week and Lexus did some sort of transfer on my transmission that took them 2 days. But the car is not driving as well after the service and transfer. I am noticing clunks on downshift when I am slowing down at the lights and the hesitation is very annoying. I bought a Lexus because I had major transmission probelms with my 01 Volvo xc70 and was needing to replace a new transmission so I thought I would be safe with Lexus but I am now a bit concerned...Is this transmission problem an ongoing issue for Lexus? Are there new software updates to fix the problem?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Cheers

Eugene
