The issue is transmission hesitation and rough shift between 30 to 50km... It only affect the 3.3L engine... You guys with RX350 should enjoy the car way better than we are...

Guess it is not really a problem.....otherwise, there would have been some recall by now...

well its just a bad design. Its a flaw, but its not like the transmission will die, i dont think ive heard of anybody needing a new transmission. Thats why theres no recall.
You get used to it.

I have driven my new (used) RX for 2 days, I do notice the growl and very slight vibration on the low gears......I guess you just get used to it. But overall, I am so happy with it. I am so tired, I spent 8 hours the last 2 days detailing the car, every nook and cranny, they are sparkling clean! I even re-applied undercoating on the rear wheel wells.....not they are all black...

your right, but the cars been out for 4 years. At this point in time with the old RX300 which i also owned, people were already experiencing transmission failure. I dont think ive heard of anyone on any forum needing their transmission replaced...so far that is.
yes i think they need to fix it, but i also think that 1) its not really that big a deal and 2) its part of the drive by wire system
in order to fix it, it would be a major overhaul that would cost them millions. perhaps though when the time comes, we will all need new transmissions. Hopefully by that time, it will be somebody elses problem haha

Too me, the whole learning transmission idea of today just seems odd. If there were only 1 driver of that car I can see it. But when there are multiple drivers, I just can't see the transmission learning everyones driving behavior and then switching to it quickly.

Acura had a hunting problem for years in the early 90s, they just recently fix it with a newly design transmission. The lag issue is on alot of Toyota transmission, it is the software trying to save gas by not down shifting too quick. There is a TSB out for the Camry.

There's a lot to the tranny. Still reliable trannies are the Japanese. How about European trannies?
