km02LS430, lucky you! I only managed 15K on the OEM Goodyears before I replaced them with the Alenzas. The other OEM tire available was Michelin. I put those on my '04 before I traded him in, replacing the Alenzas at 33K. Two sets of tires in 48K I wish Lexus would find better tires to put on the RX. The Michelins were nice, by the way.

I have 45K on my GoodYear RSAs and they need to be changed as the fronts are just going on the wear bars. Mine were dated 0426. I guess I am either lucky or my roads are nice =) So Cal here.

We've bought our RX used on a 2nd set of OEM Michelins. We've put about 20K mi on them so far, that's also with some occasional towing, and it looks like we should be able to put another 20k on them. Unless one drives like a maniac and speeds thru corners, there is no reason these tires should not last 30k mi minimum.

I usually buy new tires around half way through the tread.I find the tires traction lessens(especially in winter weather),there's more road hwy noise and the tires have a rougher ride half way through the tread life.

Just put a new set of Goodyear Fortera Triple Threads on. I've had these tires on a couple cars b4 this. Man, what a difference from the Micheilns, like night and day. About 25% quieter. Cost about a thousand dollars for 4, but have a 60K warranty. Just feels like a new pair of tennis shoes, tight, fast, grippy.

A few months back I put on a pair of brand new Sunitomo tires on my 2004 RX330 and I must say I'm very very happy with them... not only are they rated for a decent amount of milage they are very quiet while driving.

When We bought the RX330 it came with the Alenza installed on it, we put already about 20k since we had it, I add my voice to the other reviewers about the Alenza being a little too rough on the road and this is the treadoff since the tread does not wear out so easily.
Regarding the Michelins I do have the MXV4 installed on the X5 and this tire was designed for BMW X5 as well. Experience with the Michelins is that the tread does not last a long time, especially if your driving on a road with many pot holes in it but the handling and the grip is very good. So no matter which tire you would choose there will be a tradeoff and it depends on the driver what to pick.

Still have the MXV4 Energy saver tires, must say been happy. Quiet. May not last as long. However when I ask for the price, I get disappointed, they are too much money. there are middle ground tires out there. Now as much money but quiet and nice design, too.

I have heard the Alenza noise ramblings, but have read fairly good reviews on them as whole.

almost all OEM tires from the factory on most car makers are horrible.

i'm still running the michelins from the factory with 19.5K miles on them. I can't wait till i can burn them off and put on some decent all-season tires with decent snow and wet road traction
